Remote learning schedule and expectations

FALA Will Have Classes on Friday, 2/24 – Remote Learning

Dear FALA Community,

FALA will hold classes remotely on Friday, 2/24/23. Admittedly, we had a few hiccups today since it has been over a year since any remote learning has taken place. Overall, the day went well and our attendance rate was around 84%, making it an official school day!

In an effort at continuous improvement, please fill out this survey to share your feedback in improving the overall experience.

Attached and below is the modified schedule. Please note that that the morning schedule is mandatory. The afternoon schedule is optional, students can choose to work independently on assignments or drop into office hours for individualized support.

Today we offered opportunities for students with special circumstances to be present on campus. Tomorrow, the weather conditions look more hazardous and I don’t feel comfortable requiring any staff members to be present on campus. We will continue to offer this option when practical.

Please not that we have had many student performances rescheduled several times because of snow days! I would like to call your attention to the latest show impacted, Starting Here, Starting Now . If the roads clear and you are able, please join us. Maestro Eric Walden shares the following:

The Advanced Musical Theatre class proudly presents the Off-Broadway musical revue Starting Here, Starting Now this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in FALA’s Stage 7. There is a suggested donation of $10.

These story songs explore the humorous, joyful, melancholy and angry ups and downs of romances, including those who were unlucky and those looking to start over again.

“Neither rain, snow, heat nor gloom of night shall stay our hard-working FALA students from getting in a couple performances of this semester’s show.”
