Ms. Khatibi, who teaches students in grades 6-12 with Individualized Education Plans due to their having a disability, calls her project “Flexible! Inspiring! Seat Yourself.” Her goal is to provide those students with “a flexible, comfortable and inspiring classroom with various seating options.”

The types of seating Ms. Khatibi seeks are listed on her webpage along with the costs. Her total project goal is $1,139, and she is more than halfway there.

Also showcased on is Mrs. Garns’ “Chrome Dreams” project, which strives to equip her FALA middle school students with Chromebooks for multimedia cross-curricular research projects.

“Students need computers to create digital products such as videos, podcasts, PowerPoints, etc.,” she states, “and they need technology (computers) in order to edit and share these modern engaging products.”

The price tag of Mrs. Garns’ “Chrome Dreams” is $2,290, and thanks to 16 donors thus far, she needs less than $300.
