Kelsy Neihardt
It’s a full FALA circle for Kelsy Neihardt, one of our new teachers this year. Kelsy teaches Algebra II, AP Calculus, and Pre-Calculus and graduated from FALA in 1999. “This place is home to me,” she says immediately. “I feel comfortable here. My experience here was amazing, and I want to do what I can to offer these students that kind of experience.”
Since her FALA graduation, Kelsy spent time dancing in California, worked with photographer Sue Bennett, became a stay-at-home mom to Amalia, who is 10, and Ira, who is 9. She also earned her teaching certificate and says that there is nothing about teaching she does not love. Though it has been 16 years since Kelsy was part of the FALA campus, she says that some things have remained the same since she was a student here. “There is a community feeling. It was there when I was a student and it is still here. It is something that has been preserved over the years and that feels good.”
