Hey! I’m Jay Mercado (He/They). This is my first year at FALA, but i’ve enjoyed teaching in other capacities including private guitar lessons and poetry workshops. I’m a Songwriter and Recording Artist — last year I won a Viola Award for Excellence in Music. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Music from NAU & my MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts. I enjoy taking pictures, having new dining experiences, and keeping up with my favorite professional sports.
