Julianne Eckert staff photoJuli Eckert was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. She began her dance journey at FALA, where she graduated in 2016. Her passion for movement led her to pursue dance further at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. There, she deepened both her technical training and her commitment to embodied practices, developing a holistic understanding of dance as a mind-body-spirit discipline.

In 2020, Juli graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Women’s and Gender Studies, earning distinction in her dance major. During her time at St. Olaf, she performed works by established choreographers including Shapiro & Smith Dance Company, Stephan Koplowitz, Paula Mann, and Mathew Janczewski, among others.

In recent years, Juli has explored a variety of personal and professional interests. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching. An outdoor enthusiast, she also enjoys paddleboarding, rock climbing, trail running, and hiking.

Juli’s teaching philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach that honors the connection between mind, body, and spirit. She believes dance is for everyone and teaches from a place of bodily awareness, creativity, and deep respect. For her, dance is a powerful tool for self-discovery and connection, with ourselves and the world around us.

She is thrilled to return to the FALA community and looks forward to learning and growing alongside its students and faculty.
