Here's a spotlight on Holly Swenson!
I am an ESS Math Teacher who is currently working on finishing my elementary teaching cert and going to be getting my SPED endorsement. I love math and love teaching. I am very passionate about disability rights and lgbtq rights.
FALA Positives: I love how FALA is an inclusive school and has smaller classes than a public school has. The kids are compassionate, artistic, musically talented, and are accepting of others. FALA is a school that is very inclusive and a place where being unique is a good thing. I love the sense of community FALA has.
My favorite colors are blue and black. I love doing anything that is active. I love swimming, snowboarding, hiking, running, longboarding, and kayaking. I also love cats.

Here's a spotlight on Elna Perkins, English!
I am originally from California. I have lived in Northern Arizona for nearly 11 years, 10 of which I was at the Grand Canyon. My husband and I have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and one granddaughter. My husband and I moved to Flagstaff in June 2023. I came to FALA at the start of the 2023-2024 school year. I am dual-certified to teach grades 6-12 in ELA and Social Studies.
What I love about teaching at FALA are the students and staff! They were all so welcoming right from the start. I have enjoyed building new relationships with the people in the FALA community.
I love the colors blue, purple, and green. I love to leisure read when I have the time. I mostly read history books for my master's program currently. I also love to go for walks or go running. I love to watch movies and play games with my family.

FALA is a phenomenal school to work at. With an emphasis on creativity, civic responsibility, and inclusivity, the school has cultivated among the student body an unmistakable togetherness that makes working here a truly meaningful experience. I feel trusted to be creative with my curricula, and that allows for some unique and deeply absorbing classes that I feel privileged to be a part of.
My favourite things include travelling, Premier League soccer, and spelling favorite with a ‘u’.
