Hi! My name is Shale, pronounced and spelled just like the rock commonly found here in Arizona. I am originally from Northern Arizona but I have lived in California for over a decade. I recently joined the FALA team as part time faculty. I graduated with my Masters of Arts in Teaching from NAU and previously graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Animal Biology from UC Davis. I teach middle school science at FALA. I do have a wide range of experience with science from veterinary medicine to research to education. Outside of work, I am a mother of five children so I do enjoy my time off from work with my family and making great memories traveling or going to local family events. Education at every level is important to me as it has inspired me in my life to keep learning and brought opportunities I would have never known possible. I wish to instill the love of learning in my students so that they never stop asking questions and feel empowered to seek the answers for themselves. Overall, I am looking forward to a great year with the students and families of FALA.
